The first day of the 2026 riding season is set for May 2nd

We are excited to announce that for the 2026 season, Harford County’s two premier cycling organizations—Harford Velo and Chesapeake Spokes—are joining forces to host a unified Opening Day!

Harford County is home to an incredible community of riders, and we believe that "rolling together" is the best way to kick off a fantastic year on the road. By combining our opening day festivities into one event, we’re making it easier for everyone to connect, celebrate, and, of course, ride.

Start Location: Harford Community College - Park in Lot W which is right across from the Wawa

8:00am - coffee and snacks and social. Group photo will be taken.

9:00am - Rides will depart. Multiple pace groups and distances will be available to accommodate all riders
